How to migrate

STEP 01

Export your data from QuickBooks

In QuickBooks, export each section as a CSV file. You only need the sections that apply to your business.

Chart of Accounts
Reports → Account List → Export to Excel/CSV

This is the most important export — do this first.

Customers & Vendors
Reports → Contact List → Export

Exports all customer and vendor contact info.

Products & Services
Reports → Product/Service List → Export

Needed if you track inventory or sell products.

Journal Entries
Reports → Journal → Set date range → Export

Use your full history date range for complete records.

Open Invoices
Reports → Open Invoices → Export

Only needed if you have unpaid customer invoices.

Unpaid Bills
Reports → Unpaid Bills → Export

Only needed if you have outstanding vendor bills.

STEP 02

Import into Trilyn One

Go to the Import page inside your Trilyn One account and upload each file. The system will guide you through column mapping.

Chart of Accounts
Import → Accounts

Import this first — other data depends on it.

Customers
Import → Customers

Imports both customers and vendors.

Products
Import → Products

Maps to your inventory module.

Journal Entries
Import → Journal Entries

Historical transactions — import after accounts.

Invoices & Bills
Import → Transactions

Open balances for AR/AP.

STEP 03

Verify & go live

After importing, run a quick verification to make sure everything transferred correctly before canceling QuickBooks.

Check trial balance
Accounting → Trial Balance

Compare totals against your QB trial balance.

Review customers
Billing → Customers

Confirm customers and vendors imported correctly.

Verify open invoices
Billing → Invoices

Make sure outstanding balances match QB.

Test a payroll run
Payroll → Runs → New Run

Run a test payroll before your next pay date.

Cancel QuickBooks
QuickBooks → Account → Cancel

Only cancel after you've verified everything.

Before you cancel QuickBooks

Do not cancel your QuickBooks subscription until you have verified your trial balance, open invoices, and contact list in Trilyn One. Keep both systems running in parallel for at least 2–4 weeks. QuickBooks does not issue refunds for partial billing periods.
